Jacuzzi® Hot Tub FAQs:

Your East Tennessee Wellness Guide

Expert Advice from Johnson City & Kingsport’s Trusted Spa Professionals

The Jacuzzi® Difference

Since 1978, Isaacs Pools & Spas has seen many brands come and go, but Jacuzzi® remains the industry gold standard. Their tubs are built with full-foam insulation and durable cabinetry that handles our Appalachian winters with ease, ensuring your energy bills stay low even when the temperature drops.

SmartTub™ is a cellular-connected app that puts your hot tub in the palm of your hand. You can adjust the temperature before you leave work in Kingsport, track energy usage, and even receive automated alerts if the spa needs service. It also alerts us at Isaacs Pools & Spas if there’s a technical issue, allowing for proactive support.

Yes. Exclusive to the J-400 and J-500™ Collections, the FX-IR Seat combines legendary hydrotherapy with near-infrared and red light therapy. This is the only hot tub in the world that targets deep tissue and skin health simultaneously—perfect for athletes and those with chronic joint pain.

Water Care & Maintenance

It’s easier than you think. Most models feature the CLEARRAY Active Oxygen™ System, which uses UV-C light and ozone to neutralize 99% of waterborne pathogens. This means you use significantly fewer chemicals. Plus, our ProClear® 5-Stage Filtration (on select models) polishes water down to 3 microns, keeping it “showroom clear” with minimal effort.

At Isaacs Pools & Spas, we don’t just drop off a tub and leave. We offer a “Free Spa School” for all new owners. We’ll walk you through water testing, chemical balancing, and filter care so you can feel confident and relaxed from day one.

Yes. For busy homeowners in Johnson City or Bristol, our Pool & Spa Valet service handles everything—from weekly water balancing to periodic equipment inspections—so your only job is to get in and soak.

Installation & Planning

A filled hot tub can weigh over 4,000 lbs. We recommend a 4-inch thick reinforced concrete pad. However, a properly reinforced deck or a level paver patio can also work. During your home consultation, our team (with over 200 years of combined experience) will help you pick the safest spot.

Most Jacuzzi® models require a dedicated 230V, 50-60 amp circuit installed by a licensed electrician. We also offer “Plug-and-Play” models in the Dream Maker Collection that can run on a standard 115V outlet, making them perfect for smaller patios and quick setups.

In Tennessee, local ordinances often classify hot tubs as “accessory structures.” Rules vary by city (Johnson City vs. Kingsport), but generally, a lockable safety cover meets most barrier requirements. Our team will help you navigate local codes and permit needs during the buying process.
